My family and I have been in Okinawa for 5 months now, and I am amazed at how familiar it feels now...slowly but surely, the anxiety I was filled with the first couple of months here is disappearing...I'm starting to find the great friendships I was longing for...
I'm hoping to find great people in Okinawa that my family and I can develop long lasting friendships with. We have a 4 year old girl named Vanessa, a 17 month old boy named Michael and a very energetic Golden Retriever named Buttons.
Anastasia- Just want to add that I began using contacts when I was 10 and have been wearing them for 19 years. I'm so glad my mom made that choice for me! For me, once on, they are less maintenance and hassle than glasses.
BTW, can you get a cont...
haha- tonight would be a perfect night for some! I don't know if you make yours from scratch, but something I found that is unexpectedly good in the sauce is a teaspoon or so (to your taste preference) each of nutmeg and cayenne. Really brings out the flavor/sharpness of the cheddar, if that is what you use. Top with bread crumbs and bake! Mmm!
hey- I've been meaning to send you a message about this for a while now- but I think you left your water bottle here. It's sitting in my dishwasher. Next time I see you I'll try to have it with me.
hey- I've been meaning to tell you, but Danielle and I and families are going to Comprehensive Park tomorrow (fri) evening at 6. This has just been a crazy week with the last of the papers and the finals. Anyway, let me know if you'd be interested in joining us.
Seems like there must be something in the water lately and I am definitely not getting my 8 glasses a day. Anyway, there are obvious obstacles to me not having another bun in the oven, myself. I'd really like one more, but we'll see how that goes for the new year.
We're thinking Friday evening around 6-ish. That way the worst of the heat is over, the kids can run and play and get tired, and everyone can be home in time for bath and bedtime.
I remember how exhausting the first trimester was for me. I got into this yucky routine (my 1st trim. was feb/march/apr in NC, so it was pretty yucky outside too) of class, clinical, work, homework, paperwork. I'd stop by Food Lion on my way home from work to pick up milk and frozen Stouffer's Mac and Cheese. I ate so much mac and cheese in those first few months I don't know how I didn't gain 50 pounds! Have you ever read the nutrition labels on those stouffer's? They are really really horrible for you.
Anyway, the offer is always out there- if you need any help with anything, just let me know.
Vanessa is starting preschool on Lester soon, isn't she? That'll be a big help.
I was wondering if that was what was up. How exciting for you! I'll talk to Danielle and we'll pick an evening and let you know. Things here are pretty run of the mill. It's the last week of the semester this summer, so I'm busy with yet another paper, and trying to get ready for finals this week. I hadn't heard about the guy in the clinic. Mr. Simpson, is it? That's pretty terrible. I hope he's ok. How long is your husband heading back up to Fuji for?
