Haha ladies, you should get a kick out of this. I was wondering why I had to sign into lunch ladies because I thought I already joined... I didn't realize I was signed in as my husband since I am on his computer lol. The picture gave it away hehe.

Living it up here on Oki. Started working, and finally get to be with my hubby. Downfall is my girls back home can't enjoy this experience with me. You know all the rain and farm smells lol. But the fun stuff like going out into town and shopping or just taking in the culture is great.

Excited

So next week I am visiting my husband next week for his 4 day weekend. This is the first time since seeing him last January 3rd (for only 2 weeks) and before that was August 3rd. I'm very excited to be visiting. And while this is only a temporary fix to seeing each other, my paperwork is almost finished processing and all they are waiting on is a flight from what I have heard. After that it's just setting up TMO and base housing :)

Just wanted to share my excitement with everyone.

Reuniting with a loved one: pros and cons

So I married a Marine. I was in a total fog of bliss and happiness when we did it. Then in August he moved to Japan without me... and the reality of it all started to sink in, slowly. Don't get me wrong, I'd do it all over again in a heart beat. But everyone here knows what I mean. I had no knowledge of what the military truly was like, let alone about being a military spouse. Understandably unless you are in it... you won't know.
The time he was gone was tough. So I started working more to pass… Continue

Taking Chance

Well, being new to all the Marine regulations and rules, this movie 'Taking Chance' 2009 blew me away. I watched it with my in-laws who have more experience (obviously) with this than I. It seemed very real, not like some of the other movies that have tried but not done such a great job at portraying military life. Although a tear jerker, I would recommend it if you can. It is based on a true story.
My question to those who know more than I is this. If a Marine goes through the airport in unifor… Continue

Rebecca -
Thanks for the response! I spoke too soon, it turns out. My beautiful bride has informed me that we are in the hunt for someone over the summer... we will be putting our feelers out there come springtime. If you're still around then, we'd love to talk turkey! In the meantime our kids we remain at Himowari before/after. Thanks again for the timely response, Rebecca. - Bo

Hey there...didn't know if you had gotten into your place yet, or if you had gotten internet. Was just wondering what you were doing this weekend and if maybe you and your hubby wanted to get together and maybe do something with me and mine? Don't have anything planned just tired of not being able to say I have done something yet. LOL if you dont have internet and dont get this message, hope you had a good weekend :) Talk to you later.

Hi Rebecca. I see you are relatively new to Island as well. I am trying to find out what to do with this whole new experience and looking at making new friends. I feel kind of like I am eaves dropping or something by coming on your page, but I saw you mention you didn't have any kids on another persons page so I thought Id message you.

My husband and I just got here about two weeks ago. Its been slow going but should hopefully be moving into our place on Kadena next week. I am just looking at meeting new people and its hard to find other friends who don't have kids. I mean I love kids but its not the same. I don't know if that makes sense to you. Lol but anyways if you don't feel like I have completely just bombarded you or something feel free to message me and maybe we could get together or something. Hope you are having fun on the island.

Are things going well for you as far as getting settled? If you need anything and I mean anything (from a ride to a trip to Cocoks) let me know! With my hubby gone I have tons of time on my hands!

Hi Rebecca,
Welcome to the island, I am sure your husband is getting you filled in on all the need to know details. I would love to meet up with you. I was just hired by MCCS but it will be awhile before all the paper work is done so I am free pretty much all week for I am guessing most of the month. Where will you be living? Just let me know what will work best for you. I can meet you just about anywhere (I only really know how to get to Lester and Kadena). :)

Hope you have a great weekend!
