The landline is definitely not worth it. Almost $40 a month just to call base to base. We just use our cell and we have vonage.

My Obon

So last night around 7pm I arrived at my Obachan's (grandmother's) apartment in Naha, gifts in hand ready to over-stuff my face full of Obon-ryori or (traditional Obon food) I lit the incense on the Butsudan and paid respects to my grandfather who passed away eight years ago. Vincent's Accident

This post was originally titled 08/08/08, but my friend told me the title didn't really match the content...So I renamed it to Vincent's Accident. Its the same post though.
Friday started out to be a great day. The kids seemed very happy with their day at preschool and I managed to cook dinner early, clean the house and with energy to spare. We've done a ton of family-together-in-the-living-room-on-laptops time, since we each have our own. It's the first time I can ever remember not going to any kind of holiday party, lunch, get-together - there was zero "build up" to Christmas, which probably was a good thing for me stress-wise, just tons and tons and tons of chillin' and relaxing.
