Awesome photograph! I never would have guessed either. I love how you can take something so ordinary like boiling water and make it look beautiful and mesmerizing.
I just have to share with those of you who have been so helpful to me & my family. The following concerns my family's first complete off-base outing.
"Hello,
Just want to let you know we as a family went out and drove up 58 to find a pottery place that I have been wanting to go to.
We decided to eat lunch out and found a place where you could either eat at a table or sit on the ground with shoes off. We oppted to sit at a table because Don was being a typical 6 year old. Anyway ordered lunch all Japanese food and Kalyn chose her own meal Tofu Soup used chopsticks and all. Don had Sobo and I had a fried beef with egg and rice. Very Good!!
We have pictures! I am only writing this to you because Kalyn is fitting right in she new what she wanted(even though she has never had it) ordered it ate as if she has been living in this country forever. It is also our first time out (not across the street to Chatan) where we were on our own usually everything we do is with friends.
Went to a wine tasting on Friday night. Very interesting Don bought a few wines that he liked. I personally loved the food.
Love,
Kristyn"
Thanks for helping make my grand-daughter move a success.
WOW! So wierd ~ the island is losing so maanyyy! Are you excited? Sad? Mixed emotions? That would be my guess - the itch to move but hard to leave. I wish you all the best Julia - you and all your "boys". :)
HEY Julia! Long time no see! :) Are you all still on Oki or PSCed? I can't remember who's coming and who's going.
We're here and good. If you are here - still doing Stroller Strides? I'm starting it tomorrow. Why didn't I start forever ago? :) Hope you all are doing good too!
Thank you,Julia, for your comment on "Newbies shouldn't Miss." Your comments along with Kandy's and Larissa's contain the type of information that I was hoping to see posted. I hope that there will be additional comments from some of the other members who have been there awhile. I have suggested to my step-daughter, Kristyn Albers, who is a member to check out this discussion as she and the family have only been on the Island for a month thus far.
Thanks, aka Grandpa Ed
Just returned back to the States and am missing Okinawa and our wonderful friends already. Luckily I have my husband and two active boys to keep me busy.
