I normally go on Saturdays, amidst all my errand running (Post office, Px, and all that fun stuff). I know they are not open on sundays!! We can definitely work something out. When works for you?? Where do you live?
There is a market in awase that I love. I go once a week.
Head out Foster legion gate, continue straight crossing 330, continue on the 227 (the road you will be on if you went straight) until the Awase intersection, also known as 85, turn Left. H...

We've arrived to Okinawa! Getting here wasn't too bad, now I am just trying to make the best of it and trying to find out what everyone "Loves" here on the island.
I am a stay at home mom, my little girl is 7 months, and I hope to find great friends for us to spend time with!
hey! that sounds good for tomorrow....hopefully the message thing starts working again soon and i'll send you directions to my house. and there's no need to pay me for them, you can just have them :)
It was great meeting you too! I'll dig those things out of my kids closets today....we used to have the hooks for the walls for them too, but if i can't find them all they came with were four hooked screws.
I would love to get together for a playdate. My son is 7.5 months old now, and crawling everywhere!!! I have 3 kids total, my oldest is 11, and the middle one is 4. I live by Foster, off base. I am not sure what branch you are, or where you are staying. I sometimes have our car, if it's not raining and my hubby can take his motorcycle. Let me know when you'd like to plan something.
So when will you get here? Do you have a sponsor, and a good one at that? We would be more than happy to drive you around any time you need. Where will your husband be working? Where will you be living? I think I remember you were planning to live on base, but I would recommend at least taking a look at what the housing agencies have to offer before commiting to on base. They'll pick you up and drive you to the houses. It's kinda fun, if anything. The majority of people we've spoken to that live on base would have decided otherwise if they could go back. My house off base is actually the best part of being here for me (except for the fact that our household goods are NOT here yet and we're sitting on the floor!) I'm still homesick, I hate not being able to understand and communicate with ease, but trying to make the best of it...driving around and getting familiar with where things are is definitely helping.
Anyhow, best of luck on the flight. We packed a lot of snacks for the baby, and that helped a lot. We brought LOTS of luggage, which was a pain to transfer from plane to plane to taxi, but we lived in temporary lodging for 3 weeks, and all the stuff we brought came in handy after all. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better in the near future.
Hi! How is the pre-PCS process going? Things are slowly getting better...we have a car and will be moving to our house in a few days. I drove for the first time today. Not too bad after a while, but I felt like I was a new driver at times. I kept on hitting the windshield wipers instead of the turn signal!! Tell-tale sign of an island newbie, I hear. Hope all is going smoothly. Say hello to Mary for us, please. BTW..do you know what her street addess is? We were 932..is she 936? We want to send her little ones something, but want to surprise her.
Jennifer, welcome to Okinawahai. I hope you are finding lots of info that help you get ready for the move. If you are looking for anything specific, let me know and I will direct you to it!
Hi Jennifer. Welcome to the Society. Just a suggestion. You might wish to add an initial to your screen name because there are a number of other "Jennifer" who are also members. You are the 13 "Jennifer" to be a member. Just a thought.
Hey! Nice to hear from you! Have you become addicted to this site yet? We got in..last night, this morning..it's all a blur right now..I'm just dead tired and the kids are cranky. I can't really say what my impression of this place is yet. We got in late at night and this morning looks hazy. I was so excited to get here for the past few months, but had cold feet all of last week. Saying goodbye to my family was horrible. I was tear-free until the plane took of..then I just lost it. I keep on telling my husband I want to go home! I'm sure these feelings will pass, though, once things settle down. Anyway, DON'T let my story scare you away!! I'm sure this place will be great for both of us!
