I am in Mifflintown, PA.

My step-son, Don (a marine) and his family: Kristyn (DW), daughter Kalyn age 12 and son "little Donald" age 7 are now on Okinawa. They are now living on Camp Lester. This was their first oversea PCS.

I have been following this site along with okinawahai.com and some of the local blogs to obtain information about living in Okinawa and in particular military life in Okinawa. The information which I obtained I was able to share with my grand-daughter, Kalyn so that she would think the family's PCSing was "Coollll"

Also, these sites were very helpful in answering my daughter-in-law questions about the move which was their first oversea PCS. She now has her own page in the Society.

I have no military background. I was surfing the web for info on Okinawa and found the site for okinawahai. Have been following this site for months and it has been very helpful to me to begin to understand what my step-daughter and family will be going through for their first oversea PCSing.

My wife and I live in Central Pennsylvania. We are thinking of visiting Okinawa (some time during 2010, most likely during late summer or the fall) thereby giving the children and grand-children a chance to have settled into their new living arrangements.

Meredith suggested that I should also join the society so here I am.

Surfing the internet and found okinawahai.com and shortly thereafter Meredith ask me to join the Society

He e-mailed us yesterday, said that he was still waiting for sec clearance still don't know how long it will take.
