If I understand this right your hubby is stationed in Korea, therefore orders should be coming from there. I would take it up the chain to get the orders, then you can schedule TMO. Make sure you have a POA.

It just depends on your packers. We shipped our spices, light bulbs, batteries and a few canned goods too.

Yes! We think so. But you can also wrap them up and box them in small boxes yourself to kinda hide it They don't unwrap things to check them out before they pack stuff.

Well they packed us out on Monday and I think I could have gotten away with shipping all my perfumes. They packed liquids in my bathroom that I meant to take with me and forgot to grab. All in all very efficient and fast. They did a 4 bedroom hous...

And it also depends on the person packing. The guy who packed up my kitchen would not pack my candles... But the one that was upstairs packed the ones in my bathroom! I almost thought I had lost my mind when I was looking for those after the mover...

So is the consensus that it depends on your movers what they'll pack and send over for you?

I sweet talked our movies into packing our batteries because we invested heavily into the rechargeables. However I have no clue how our spices and flour and baking goods have fared because we haven't gotten our goods yet and I have been on Island ...

30 days until my PCS from Okinawa

So, here I am at the point I have read so much about.
I am about to leave this island. I have thought about this point in my life a lot; and .....I am happy.
I am happy to go to a place where I can settle down. This island is beautiful and I love it. I have been blessed to have spent three years here, but settling down sounds really good right now.
I could buy some houseplants and watch them grow. Remembering how said house plants grew just everywhere outside on Okinawa. I could buy a house and… Continue

Work a little, work a lot, don't work at all

So,
I know this has been on all of our minds this week.
Working, having children, raising children, feeling the guilt of daycare, staying at home and feeling the guilt of "not bringing home any money".
This post is from my point of view, purely. I am not trying to judge anybody. For all purposes I am venting.
I suppose I started a family early. I was 22 when I had my first child. We were living in Germany and I was married to a German. We get 6 month of maternity leave (paid I might add) and 1 y… Continue

Here a zip line, there a zip line, zip lines everywhere!

Yes ladies,
this was the day I jumped over my own shadow and went down zip lines, trusting a harness and numerous steel cables. It was fun and I'll do it again in a heartbeat.
Unfortunately my daughter did not dare and ended up taking great pictures of all of us. My "report" has been sent to Heather and hopefully soon I can share this place with the rest of you.
As always in any Japanese enterprise this place is a well thought out, well run machine. Everything goes smoothly, help is always there… Continue

I am refusing to acknowledge my age and am now acting as foolishly as I please

After a day of mourning my long gone youth, sobbing, sleeping (see arthritis medication), and all around feeling sorry for myself I have this to say:
I am so over it!!!!!!
I did yoga all weekend and my wrist never felt better. I talked to my mom (67) that swears all doctors are stupid, and I made a reservation at "Jungle Adventures" for tomorrow. I let you all know how it went and I'll send a report to Heather.
I have a fear of heights, that I am sure, has to do with the fact that I am a total co… Continue

Broken wrist or just old age?

I am forever 25 or 30'ish, at the most. My husband is 34......in reality I am pushing 50 and he is still 34.
I do things people my age shouldn't do; like jump off sea walls in the pouring rain in flip flops. The outcome can not be good.
I got away with a very bruised palm of my right hand, a bruise and scrape on my right knee, and I could swear I broke my hip.
That was last Saturday. Sunday is for resting; i.e. doing yoga, twice. Because in my head I am fat... and that is a whole other story.
I… Continue

Ich muss mich korrigieren.
Der Markt heisst ausserdem Union.
Also, nachdem du da links gefahren bist,

Konditorei, Cafe. ;-)
Ist ein kleines Laib, Y260, aber gut!

Hallo Daniela!

Habe deinen Post gesehen, in "Commissary".
Bist du denn noch hier in Okinawa?
Denn hier gibt es sehr wohl einen Baecker,
der deutsches Brot und auch andere Sachen
verkauft.

Meld dich doch einfach mal bei mir!

Liebe Gruesse
