Hello! My husband and I moved to Okinawa in late April 2008 and just love it so far. It's quite a change from living in the Midwest all my life, but it has been and will continue to be such a great experience! We live off Kadena AB in Okinawa City and have enjoyed exploring all this island has to offer. Early mornings at the beach, snorkeling, and trying new restaurants are some of the activities that keep us busy.
I'm a registered nurse, but since arriving in Okinawa my art hobby has begun to grow into more of a "business". Very excited about this! I recently illustrated a children's book called "Takako and the Great Typhoon" (www.shisastory.com) and will soon be working on various pastel pieces inspired by this island :)
