Flax seed should also be stored in the dark. I do take 1 additional Soy supplement.

One thing to remember is to pre-grind you flax seed in a coffe grinder when using as a supplement. If you're not able to chew up every last seed, they will just pass thru you with no benefit. Flax is awesome for getting omega oil in you, 3 & 6 I believe.

For bruising try to get bioflavinoids. They strengthen the artery walls without hardening. Tofu is an excellent source, I'm just not sure how much it contains. You may need an additional supplement for that. Maybe a vit c that contains rutin, hesperidin, and bioflavenoids would be best.

I meant silken tofu, sorry

I will usually eat it for lunch. Get the liken tofu, flax seeds on top for some crunch and then I pour the yogurt on top of that.
As for bruising easy; I have always bruised easy. So no change for me there.

And do you ladies bruise easily? That's something new for me over the last few years.

Daniela, do you flavor your tofu? Cook it in any way? Or do you eat it cubed and cold? I'm willing to try anything! :)

I started eating tofu with flax seeds and yogurt for lunch every day. That has helped the bleeding tremendously. I feel much better and I think I am losing some weight too.
The glucosamine is helping the arthritis and I am practicing my yoga at least 4-5 times a week.
So all is well in my world for now. I am keeping my fingers crossed:)

I actually started early menopause about eight years ago (I was 35). It was *horrible* - going from a monthly cycle that I hardly ever even noticed to incredible cramping and "flood" proportion flow, irratic mood swings and body heat that felt like internal combustion! - after a ton of tests, the docs put me on Premarin (and possibly birth control, it's a bit fuzzy after all this time) after about a year things settled back down to "normal" ... I only took the HRT for that year-ish time frame, but when my body decides to kick back into menopause for good the next time, I'm pretty sure I'll take it again.

Hey there! Sorry I'm not the best poster around. I prefer to do most things homeopathic as possible. I was wondering what kind of herbs are you taking? Not sure if you're interested or not but here is a website where I get herbal tincures for my husband's allergies/sinus problems. He used to get allergy shots several times a year and after two weeks of the tincures he was almost allergy free and would only use them once or twice when symptoms started to flare.

I've been totally past the transition for years. I can tell you tho, there will be "mini" flashes off and on for a few years. But it's nothing like the feeling you're in the middle of the furnace! I still remember exactly how it started and ended! YUCK.

Keep up the exercise and take a good cal-mag-zinc-d tab also to keep those bones in shape!

Hello,
interesting that my group name has something in common with the teenagers:) Never thought of it that way.
I too love my wisdom and patience. Patience was never something I had in my youth.
The reason I started this group is because I believe that this can be the best time of our lives! I would like to share the little tips and tricks that help make the "transition" a little easier.

I for one have found Yoga to be my exercise of choice. Power Yoga gives me everything I need, including cardio.
With this I was able to stop my weight gain and I feel really good about my muscle tone.
I have also started taking OTC herbs that are suppose to help with Menopause. After a talk with my doctor at the women's health clinic on Kadena I feel really confident.
After all, this transition is about the ups and downs in the hormones. After it all levels out again we will be just fine.

I watched "Oprah Show" on Friday and was shocked to hear that most of the doctors recommended HRT.
Any thoughts on that?

For now life is better; my moods have mellowed out a bit, the bleeding has stopped, and I have come to terms that at least one night a week I will get up at 2:00 a.m.:)
