Hello all. I am new to the "Hai" and this is the first group I am joining. I look forward to the discussions here. I am glad you started it. There needs to be many more online forums such as this in order to help grow the Republican base. Thanks...Tom

Emily & Jennifer - ditto for me as well regarding the overseas funding of abortions. With all that's going on in our own country right now, it makes me furious that 3 days after Obama is in the White House, this is what he decides to approve using MILLIONS of our tax dollars!!!! Unbelieveable.

Emily, if you start a discussion, I will be the first to join, I am fed up with funding abortion w/our taxes, anywhere.

I can't wait to see how many others, like Pelosi, want Gitmo closed, but don't want them in their districts! Amazing how they are so eager to be part of the problem, not part of the solution! I never thought I'd say this, as much as I LOVE my country and am proud to be an American, but I am glad I'm not in the US right now. I can use a little break from all the politics over there. At least here, I can monitor what I'm subjected to a little easier.

Emily, How about starting a discussion regarding the policy of the overseas abortion ban. Maybe posting a couple of questions within your discussion. This site can use several additional subjects to discuss. Give it a try

Personally what has been weighing heavily on my mind recently is Obama's reversal of the overseas abortion ban. I know this policy has has gone back and forth for many years, but abortion is probably my hottest political button. I don't pay my taxes so that the government can fund abortion. I'm glad he wants to help women in other countries not suffer, but we should focus our funding on helping these women by giving them jobs, safe places to live, schooling, etc. Funding abortions and giving them birth control doesn't help them. Why can't our tax dollars help women in other ways?
