I work mornings, so, I couldn't do it util the afternoon. Sounds like Tuesday afternoon might work best for everyone. Should I try to book it for then - like 2:00? Let me know what works for you.

I can do Tuesday during the day/afternoon. I just can't make it in the evening.

I like the idea of everyone bringing 6 dozen cookies and then providing the recipe. Simple and effective. I am good for Monday although I can't make Tuesday unless it is an afternoon thing.

Jen- good questions..... I'm not really sure as I've not hosted one before. What I did in the past was to bring one big batch of cookies - like 6 dozen - with the recipe printed out for everyone. People got to sample one dozen that was displayed and, depending on the size, the other 5 dozen was taken home by others (ie: maybe 1 or 1/2 dozen per person). Thus, everybody brings 6 dozen, goes home with a variety of 5 dozen of other types. Any other suggestions are welcomed as it doesn't have to be the same format.

I did reserve the community center for Monday. It is at 9918 Seely Road (just as you turn from Douglas heading towards Jack's Place). However, if that is a bad night, I can switch it to Tuesday. It's a small room - sits about 20ish - and has a ping pong table, pool table and large screen tv. I thougth those might come in handy for those not able to find a baby sitter. If you would prefer Tuesday, I'd have to know by tomorrow at the latest.

Can I get an idea of who is interested..... then, when we finalize the date, I can put it as an event.

can you explain the swap a little more? would we just be bringing plates/containers of cookies we made at home? Decorating? Sampling? Bringing them home? Swapping recipies? None of the above? All of the above? How long are you thinking this will last? All details would be appreciated. I also second the idea of posting this as an event in the "Events" section. Would this be open to non-bakers? Or are only those who bake something eligible to participate?

Hi ladies,

I already have plans for Monday night so I won't be able to make it this time. I would be totally game for ongoing cooking activities though.

Monday night works for me.... I'll go ahead and book the community room behind Jack's place (it's free) so we can have more room spread out. It's at the corner of Douglass and Seely Road in the OSC housing area.

Does 7:00 sound good? I've not hosted one before - can some one explain how much cookies we should bring? For example, do we make 1 dozen to share with people to sample, then give away XX? number of dozen of cookies already bagged? Or, do people just take a handful here, a handful there?

Looking forward to it!

I'm thinking that we have a handful of interested people. Let's do it! Janice, are you still willing to host? My vote would be for Monday night- unless we're bringing Kids, then any morning / afternoon except Wednesday.

Daytime is better for me but otherwise I'm pretty flexible. Still interested in participating.
