Animal Lovers

I saw that everyone was talking about pictures, politics and scrapping . I do not know of any of that. So, I thought I would start a group about how you met your pet, I love animals LOL! Tell us how your pet came to Okinawa, how your pet ajusted to Okinawa , Pet friendly places and all that fun stuff. Especially helping others answer questions on bringing pets here. Believe me ..I had a million and one questions and I had to figure it out on my own. So feel free to share pictures and stories about your pets . Thank you.

I am very sad to say that I need to find a wonderful and loving home for our little white girl Kitty, Baby Wiggles. She is so sweet and precious, very affectionate, playful and devastatingly cute. She is about 3years old, pure white with a cute little pink nose, pink fingers and toes and beautiful green eyes. I had both my male cats (Rory, 9 year old Chocolate Ocicat, and Spot,4 year old Golden Bengal) delivered to me from California 3weeks ago. My husband David, had gotten her a year ago, because he wanted company ( he is a total cat lover) while he was waiting for myself and our boys to come to Okinawa. His intentions were all well and good and he is very loving to her but she just does NOT like our boys one bit. I keep tryin to get them all to be friends, Rory & Spot do not have a problem getting to know her, as they have lived with several different animals, dogs and cats, throughout their many travels. Baby-Wiggles just is very used to being an only child and she needs someone to pamper her and play with her and brush her hair and love her up as much as she deserves. She has holed herself up in our bedroom and is not coming out to socialize and I feel really bad that she is in there most of the time alone. I try to go and play with her as much as possible, but still, she needs to be able to roam around the house in comfort without being nervous about 'The Intruders".. She is very clean, does not do ANY bad things at all, and sleeps most of the day. She loves to greet you when you come home and plays with such joy with her toys and loves her scratching post very much. She is just a sweet little cutie pie. So! Please, if you or someone you know, would take awesome care of her and not give her away ever and love her and pamper her forever please let me know as soon as possible. She's a really good girl and I really don't want to let her go but I have to, we cannot take her back to the states when we go. She is native Okinawan and eats Iams dry cat food and Friskies canned seafood with GRAVY. She loves her gravy! LOL! Have a heart and help Babay Wiggles have a happy home! She would make a nice playmate for a little girl.. Thank you for your help!

Well HOORAY for my daughter and ANA Airlines for safely bringing my precious cat-boys Rory & Spot here from West Hollywood where they have been waiting to get to Japan since forever (June18th). I cannot tell you how happy and normal I feel now hanging out right now with Spotty in my arms asleep and my great big love of my life, Rory at my feet as I write this. I was freaking out so much since I got here worried to death if there was going to be some unforseen problems with their arrival. Having never 'flown' my guys anywhere ( we travel extensively by car easily) I am so suprised at how well and easy everthing was after all the paperwork of course. I really had it very easy though as my daughter Vanessa had taken care of EVERYTHING stateside and accompanied her furry brothers to Okinawa. She said they just flowed thru with no problems in Tokyo or @ Naha! We picked her and the boys up @ the airport expecting to be there for a couple or few hours, but as soon as her flight landed, we were all together within 15 minutes, with all her luggage and the boys on a rolling cart all set and ready to get in the van and go to Nakagusuku to their very ready litter box at their new home. Spot went right away but Rory had to check out his new place first. So I am Happy and relieved that they are here now. Maybe now I can get off these anti depressant meds.. the doc said once I get my cats back, I should be back to normal. I know that is right, I feel so much happiness now, PURRRRR!

Thank you Alana! I am still going to be all nervous about this upcoming flight until I finally have my boys in my arms. I just really miss them so much! I hope they just sleep the whole time and don't get sad. They will be here November 4th which just cannot come too soon! I have'nt seen them since June 16th, I feel naked without them! LOL!!!

OK< so I was looking after this chihuahua whilst the owners were in westpac and ready to pcs and find the dog a home, so they found it a home and now it's gone and I MISS IT!!! The thing grew on me :o(
So, it went to a lady on McT who helps people with animals if they need to pcs, if anyone knows her can you pass her info onto me, so I can adopt the dog if she still has it or hasn't fallen in love herself....

Veronica, we flew over with our cat, he just sat in his kennel in cargo and was a little sad but he was fine. you should check that your cat can ride in coach with your daughter all the way through, we were told no animals in the cabin on our airline from Tokyo to Okinawa, thankfully we were prepared to put him in cargo anyway, but had we only had a soft sided carrier we would have been SOL

Has anyone flown their cats to the island from the states? My cats are scheduled to fly here with my daughter November 4th, we are both starting to freak out because my boys will be flying in cargo. One of them is too big for coach and the airline told my daughter they have to fly coach. Are there people down there to care for our animals? Please, someone calm me down, I cannot wait to see my cats, but like I said I am starting to freak out about their comfort and their handling..

Dogtoberfest is the 25th at Chibana soccer field, I believe the info is in Venture magazine. And I wouldn't mind a photo shoot with my dogs, but they aren't the sit still for pics kind of girls...
